Garlic parmesan flaxseed crackers
Conventional crackers you buy from the grocery store are very refined and have little nutritional value. These garlic parmesan flaxseed crackers contain only a few ingredients and are a healthy, low carb, high fibre alternative. As an added bonus, they taste great! You can add in additional herbs and spices such as chilli and paprika for a flavour variation. Eat by themselves or with your favourite dip.

Ingredients
- 1 cup flaxseed meal
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp dried herbs
- ½ cup water
- Extra seeds of choice to top (flax, chia, sesame)
Method
- Preheat oven to 200ºC and line and grease baking tray.
- Mix all ingredients together and spread evenly over tray using a spatula. It should be thin, less than 1/2 cm thick.
- Sprinkle with seeds and score dough with a knife in both directions to create cracker sized squares.
- Bake for about 15 minutes. Remove and cut completely through the crackers (where you previously scored the dough) and place back in the oven for a few minutes to brown the edges. Careful not to leave them in too long or they will burn.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.
