An article recently appeared in the British newspaper The Daily Mail, describing new varieties of cheese designed by scientists. The cheese was produced by bacteria obtained from human armpits, a foot, a bellybutton and tears.
The cheese was not designed to be eaten; it was just an experiment. I doubt they’d find any willing volunteers to eat it if they tried!
How is regular cheese made?
The process isn’t really all that different. Cheese is normally produced by adding bacteria and rennet to milk and the bacteria is normally obtained from the stomach and intestines of animals. So the only difference here is the bacteria was obtained from humans rather than animals.
So the next time you have a craving for cheese, cast your mind back to this article and the craving will probably soon vanish!
